I'm a Chicago graduate student studying public policy and computer science. Also a Morocco RPCV. I love competitive 1 v.1 games, mostly trading card games and chess but I also love a number of board games. I'm also into BJJ and climbing.

In 2022, a friend said they found this game that combined elements of Magic the Gathering and chess. I was pretty intrigued, and the online client made learning it quick and easy. I got hooked quickly and soon had eight or so games going at once. I did not play SW1. My play experience has almost entirely been online. I've tried to bring it to board game hang-outs but it's such an intense 1 v. 1 game that it doesn't always work well with that audience.

The wayfarers. They are stupid aggressive but they play so effortlessly which is nice in a game that otherwise has really hard turns. I just love pushing three cards across the board in a turn. I also love the fallen kingdom, my original favs and I have been really liking the filth.

I think the magic system makes for really snowballey games. I would love to try it if you get no magic for a kill and instead get two magic on discard. I also dislike that your summoner get hurt if you don't attack, its such an arbitrary way to push the action, but I don;t have a fix.

Magic the Gathering, Flesh and Blood, Chess, Parks, Wingspan, Dune, whatever boardgame is popular atm.
